The last Nizam of Hyderabad, Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan founded the Osmania
University. The Osmania University is the seventh oldest establishment of higher
studies in India, the third oldest in Southern India and the first one to be
set-up in the former princely State of Hyderabad. Throughout it's functioning of
almost nine decades, the Osmania University has shown noteworthy growth and
sustained an incorporated progress of all faculties. It has made commendable
